The Rental Mismatch: Where are the Amenities?

A key word for apartments these days is: Amenities. These extras, ranging from in-unit washers and dryers to a spin room, are what renters want. However, a recent report released by Apartment List shows that in some cities, “the types of amenities that renters desire may not match what is available in the marketplace.”
For example, when it comes to the above-referenced in-unit laundry, 53% of renters nationally want it. But only 13% of apartment properties actually have it, Apartment List noted. Interestingly enough, there seem to be more pet-friendly apartments than there are renters with actual pets.
